Guy Hovis, Singer (1970-1982)

Guy HovisGuy Hovis, a vocalist, was born in Tupelo, MS on September 25, 1941. He attended the University of Mississppi and originally started working as an accountant for one of the large "Big-8" accounting firms until he entered military service as part of his ROTC requirement. After fulfilling his service commitment, he returned to college for a master's degree but soon found music and showbiz more inviting.

Guy Hovis met his future wife, Ralna English, in 1969 at The Horn, a Santa Monica, California nightclub where they were both performing. The next year, he joined his wife on the Lawrence Welk Show as one half of "Guy & Ralna" which was one of the show's most popular acts.

Guy & Ralna divorced in 1984 citing irreconcilable differences. Since Welk, he has remarried, recently to Sarah (Sis) Lundy, and has worked as State Director for US Senator Trent Lott (R-Mississippi).   While not working in politics, he sings concerts both as a soloist and with his ex-wife Ralna, and spends time with his daughter Julie. In 2002, Hovis married Sarah Lundy Moorehead, a nurse from Jackson, Mississippi.
