Falan Welk, a vocalist formerly known as Tanya
Falan, peformed on the Lawrence Welk Show from 1967
to 1977. Tanya was born Tanya Marie Falappino on May 4, 1949 in Glendale, CA.
Extremely talented at a young age, by the time she
reached high school, Tanya could play the drums,
sing a note, cello, bass, drums and xylophone. She
even had sung in a rock band that did gigs at
Disneyland. She joined the Welk show on New Year's
Eve 1967.

Soon
after, she caught the eye of Lawrence's son,
Larry Jr., then the general manager for Welk's
recording company, Ranwood Records. While Tanya
was in the hospital with an appendicitis, Larry
came to visit her. Always the practical joker,
Larry brought her a dead plant, a canned ham and
goldfish swimming in a plastic bag. After eight
months, the two married on August 11, 1968 at a
Hollywood Church. Tanya's best friend, Francini
Fornacs was her maid of honor. Accompanying her
were 10 bridesmaids including Cissy King,
Andra Willis, Sandi Jensen,
Sally Flynn Hart, Michele Mazurki,
Danna Minerva, Margie Minerva, Carol Arribbio,
Susan Coco and Marie Pence. Larry Welk's best
man was Kenny King.
Tanya and Larry had
three children together, Lawrence III, Kevin and
Lisa. She
remained with the show until 1977 and divorced
in 1979. In 1979, she married childhood friend
Kenny Roberts and had two children, Nicky and
Kenny, Jr. Today, they live
in La Tuna, CA. In addition to singing, she is
also an accomplished interior designer.
