The 1966 Christmas episode is unique in that it features the appearance of Welk's wife, Fern, and two of Welk's grandchildren. After viewing the 1965 Christmas special, the grandchildren lobbied their mother, Shirley Fredericks and Grandmother, Fern Welk, to appear on the 1966 episode. Other features include Lawrence Welk and his Champagne Music Makers sing "Jingle Bells", Bobby Burgess and Barbara Boylan dance as Raggedy Ann & Andy in the "Doll Dance", the Lennon Sisters sing "Star Carol," Jo Ann Castle and Bob Ralston perform "Frosty The Snowman" and "White Christmas", and Aladdin sings the holiday classic "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus".
