Maurice Pearson, Singer (1957-1961)
Lawrence Welk's Irish Tenor Singer
Maurice Pearson was an Irish Tenor singer on the Lawrence Welk Show from 1957 to 1961.
In 1959, Pearson's brother hijacked the identity of another Lawrence Welk show performer, Alvan Ashby, and was deported to Canada.
Pearson left the show in 1961 after a backstage argument with Welk. After leaving the show, he started his own radio show in Vancouver, Canada called "Maurice Pearson Sings."
