Pearson was an Irish Tenor singer on the Lawrence Welk
Show from 1957 to 1961.
In 1959,
Pearson's brother hijacked the identity of another
Lawrence Welk show performer, Alvan Ashby, and was
deported to Canada.
Pearson left the show in
1961 after a backstage argument with Welk. After
leaving the show, he started his own radio show in
Vancouver, Canada called "Maurice Pearson Sings."
